Today I will be profiling Burnley striker Steven Fletcher, our 15th player profile. On Wednesday 5stars will be featuring Rory Delap, please read andcomment (only if you want to)on this weeks featuresBefore moving to Burnley for 3m in this seasons summer transfer window, 22 year old Steven Fletcher Griffin Canning Jersey represented Scottish side Hibernian. Fletcher graduated from the Hibernian youth system, and he made his full first team debut against Kilmarnock at the tender age of seventeen. In the 2004/2005 season, Fletcher appearedtwenty times for Hibs in the league, scoring five goals. In the 2005/2006SPL campaign, theScotsman was a huge hit as he scored ten goals in all competitions that season, as he started a total of21games.However it was the2007/2008 campaignwhich saw Steven Fletcher become a starting regular forHibernian, as he scored thirteen league goals andhe was also named as the ScottishFootball WritersYoung player of the year. Fletcher ended his Hibs career last season, as he scored a total of eleven goals in the SPL in the 2008/2009 campaign. That season there was plenty of speculation involving Fletcher with a move away from Easter Road.As Man City, Middlesbrough and Celtic were all linked with the striker; however Fletcher decided to join Premier League new boys Burnley for a fee of 3 million pounds. This season, Fletcher has turned out to be a wonderful signing for Burnley. Owen Coyle was the manager who brought the former Hibs striker to the club; howeverthe line up is nowin the hands ofnew coach Brian Laws. However I still think Laws willkeep Fletcher, as the main striker for Burnley for the rest of this season. Steven Fletcher is currently the top scorer for thePremier League side, in all competitions this season the striker has netted nine times, however five of them havebeen scoredin the lucrative Premier League. In the League Cup though, Fletcher was able to score in every single round that Burnley competed in. His first twogoals in a Burnley shirt came against Hartlepool, as the Clarets defeated the league one side 2-1. Fletcher also bagged a goal in the next round against Barnsley; however Burnley were beaten by Mark Robins side. In the Premier League the former Hibernian striker has scored five times, all of his goals have been within the eighteen yard box, as Fletcher has proven that he is a brilliant finisher at Premier League level. Fletchers first Premier League goal came against Birmingham, while the Burnley striker has also netted against Wigan, Man City and recently against the MK Dons in the FA Cup. On the other hand, Steven Fletcher netted a double in that 5-3 epic against West Ham on the 28th of November. There are many seasons left in Fletchers career, and at the young age of 22, the Burnley hitman could well become a regular for the Scotland national side in a couple of years time. Steven Fletcher has caps for the Scotland U20s, U21s and the Scotland B team. However it was his appearances for the Scotland under 21s which caught the eye of the Full Scotland team manager Alex McLeish. On the other hand, Fletcher hasnt matched his full potential as a Scotland international player. The 22 year old has only scored one goal in seven caps for his country, with his only goal coming against Iceland in a 2010 World Cup qualifier. Overall Fletcher has many years to progre s as a football player, and hopefully he can keep Burnley in the Premier League with his fine finishing.Wednesday Premiership Player Profile Rory Delap(by 5stars) Grant Holmes Jersey
